Makeup and Beauty Trends For Fall-Winter 2009-2010

Makeup trends change subtly from season-to-season. Since each season verbalizes its own rules and fashion trends, therefore its necessary to obey those fashion rules not only in terms of clothing but also in terms of make-up. We do not wear make-up as a muffle to conceal our face, but as a way to emphasize beauty and nuances of our beautiful face in a proper manner.

Makeup trends for fall/winter 2009 seem to be inspired by a wide variety of concepts. This year runways featured either bold and black-inspired makeup looks or a more pared down natural beauty for fall season. The color-scheme of cosmetics for winter 2009-2010 is full of contrasts.

Here are three makeups must have makeup trends for fall/winter 2009:

Cat-eye makeup: The cat-eye makeup which was a leading trend in fall 2008 is still around for fall 2009, but in a modified form. The tail end at outer corner of eyes stays horizontal and straight rather than sweeping up and out. This look, exaggerated on Lorick's runway, which was paired well with smoky espresso or velvet textured eye shadow. From runways to latest beauty campaigns, sooty black liner smudged the eyes with vampy blackish red lips! Luxurious golds and amber, moss greens, smoky grays, and deep shale are the highlights of fall 2009 eye makeup color palette.

Natural-looking and bold eyebrows have been a mainstay in beauty over last few seasons, and they continue to be a strong trend for fall/winter 2009 as well. A heavier, thicker black or brown eyebrow gives a more youthful appearance, making it a favorite choice for most women.

Lip trends: The lip trends for fall 2009 have gone completely bold. Black has been reinterpreted in lip colors too, resulting in a very extravagant, sophisticated and hot look for chilly weather. But if you have chosen bold makeup for eyes, it would be better to go for innocent colors for lips like pink, violet, and fuchsia. This will allow laying more emphasis on eyes. Popular lip colors for the season include plum, berry, and wine shades, as well as muted reds.

Givenchy Les Poetique, Chanel Noirs Obscurs, Lancome Declaring Indigo, and Bobbi Brown's Chrome Collection are some really adorable makeup lines for this fall and winter.

Sheer foundation makeup: Foundation makeup colors tend to remain same from season-to-season. But still, each season brings about a new texture to explore. Heavy winters often inspire a matte, powdery look that is absolute opposite of sheer looks of summer. Fall 2009 has taken the hold of sheer foundation makeup trend of summer with a few tweaks.

Sheer foundation makeup looks more natural than matte looks. Instead of a thicker matte texture, makeup trends for fall and winter this year, are calling on wearers to continue using their tinted moisturizers, with soft layer of translucent powder. There is another way to stay current with foundation makeup trends. A high-definition makeup can be done with a lightweight, oil-free base that perfects skin while still looking soft and natural.

Bare Escentuals makes great foundation kits that match skin tones and are easy to use. Best of all, they give a completely natural finish that can give a look of naked skin. Finish it off with a slick of balm and a swipe of mascara and you are done! The biggest key to this look is to remember that the right skin prep comes first in order to look flawless.

Like any other time of year, Fall 2009 stays away from featuring more than one focal point of face. Choosing to wear a bold lip color with neutral, understated eye is in line with fashion trends emerging for winters. On contrary, smoldering, intensely painted eyes will look best with a natural, soft lip color and delicately enhanced cheeks. Skin paleness is also in with its natural tints.

Classic Bridal Makeup - The Perfect Wedding Day Look (Part 1 - Foundation)

There are many ways of achieving a classic bridal makeup look. In reality, a classic look is soft and beautifully balanced. It consists of flattering colors that give a timeless look and reflects impeccable style.

It never goes out of style.

It is definitely clean, neutral, sophisticated and polished. You want to look at your wedding photos for many years to come without saying: "What was I thinking?"

The best way to avoid this is to choose a neutral makeup color palette that best compliments your particular skin tone, eye and hair color. Although many women suit cool colors best, you can easily wear warm ones too. It's one way to keep things toned down and natural.

Also, be sure to coordinate your makeup to some extent with your wedding color theme and time of the year. If you have a fall wedding and have chosen a theme made up of warm fall colors, it's best to choose makeup colors in this palette. In other words, pink and lilac pastels may not be the most suitable choice. Let your theme colors guide you into what makes you comfortable.

If you prefer cool makeup colors and suit them better altogether, remember that there are many neutral cool colors to choose from also. It is always possible to have a warm color theme and cool makeup palette. You just need to know how to pick them. Altogether, the neutrals are the classic colors that will keep your scheme well balanced.

A classic makeup style looks great on anyone. Of course, the makeup colors and application techniques can be modified slightly but it is in my opinion, the foundation to the perfect bridal makeup look. Of all styles, this is my favourite one. I hope it inspires you.

Basic step by step guide on how to accomplish this timeless look.

Before you begin makeup application, be sure to prepare skin properly.

FACE:

- Before using your foundation, apply M.A.C Strobe Liquid. This formula produces a soft, natural-looking glow and leaves the skin looking healthier and more radiant.

- Next, apply foundation, tinted moisturizer or mineral makeup. Always consider wearing some form of foundation on your wedding day. It makes your look.

- Use a concealer if needed for blemishes, dark under eye circles and any other areas of concern. It is important to cover up any redness on your face as these areas will be amplified in your photos.

- Now, apply powder in the same tone as your foundation with a large powder blush. Do this sparingly - you don't want a "caked" look. Plus, you will likely be building up your powder application throughout the day and night - you don't want too many layers.

Remember, it is highly recommended that you wear some form of foundation for your wedding. Of all makeup application steps, avoid leaving this one out. It will balance your entire look.
