Spring 2009 Makeup Tips
As the cold, gray days of winter give way to the hopeful days of Spring, you may be yearning to change your makeup accordingly. And why not? Spring symbolizes new growth, coming out of hibernation, a new perspective. And instead of wearing the makeup style that makes the holidays so festive, let's move towards something lighter and brighter and welcome Spring properly.
The Cheeks: Spring 2009 makeup tips are all about dewey cheeks. Using a crème blush or a powder blush with shimmer will give you that fresh-face look. Stick with baby pink to really showcase your features, and use it on both the apples of your cheeks and your cheekbones.
Bronzer: You've been inside all winter (well most of us) and your skin may show it. Bring a warm-weather heartbeat right to your smile by applying a little bronzer (crème or powder) underneath your cheekbones. It works to perk up your skin and your smile in one easy step. Choose a light color that would naturally reflect the transition of your skin to tanned to look natural.
The Eyes: You'll not want to toss your smokey eye tip sheet quite yet! This season focuses on using colors from a softer palette instead of using the traditional smokey charcoal, mink brown or deep silver. Not sure which colors to choose?
Green Eyes: Focus on violet, purple, copper and khakiBlue Eyes: Try soft pinks, ivory, grayish-purple and neutral browns
Brown Eyes: You can experiment with soft pink, lilac, vanilla and medium-deep browns
Hazel Eyes: Look for soft pinks, copper, forest greens and cocoa brown
Lilac is on everybody's lips this season for an eye color, and as you can see above, it is very versatile and works well for most women.
Eyeliner: As an added shake-up to your routine, try pairing light pastel eyeshadows with soft, shimmery white or silver eyeliner to really maximize these Spring 2009 makeup tips. Of course, charcoal, brown and gray are always classically beautiful eyeliners.
The Lips: Keep 'em glossy and use a salmon or petal pink color. The idea is to keep your look natural and feminine with just enough spark to bring out your natural beauty. Pink, light coral and salmon are all colors to consider puckering up with.
The Skin: Finally, remember, as it gets warmer you are outside more and need to take extra care of your delicate facial skin. Using a foundation with SPF, in addition to using sunblock, is the best way to keep your gorgeous skin healthy your whole life. Mineral makeup is fantastic, because most of it comes with SPF15 or higher naturally, leaving you with less worry.
