Inexpensive Wedding Decorations and Supplies

Weddings tend to be frightfully expensive. Often couples postpone a wedding because their financial situation does not allow them to go ahead with all that they have planned for their wedding. It is not necessary that all weddings be expensive. A wedding can be made beautiful and memorable yet inexpensive using some imagination. Wedding decorations is an area that offers ample scope for cutting costs.

Planning to get married around the Christmas holiday can be a great idea. Usually, churches and reception halls are already decorated during this season, cutting down on what you need for decorations.

Keep a watch out for the after holiday sales. Decorative products are available for far less after a major holiday. Red hearts are available for great prices after Valentine's Day; lights are available for a fraction of the cost after Christmas.

While shopping for wedding decorations, avoid the wedding-specific area of the store. The same products are usually available at far cheaper rates in other areas of the store. A string of pearls may cost as much as three or four times the cost of unstrung pearls in the sewing area. All you need to do is to string them together, which does not take much timr or skill.

Buying seasonal flowers is another money saving option. Flowers that are out of season can be horrendously expensive. Brides can request the bridesmaids and other family members to help out with the floral arrangements instead of opting for a professional arranger, in order to save money as well.

Checking with other brides in the area and exploring the feasibility of sharing the decorations is money saving idea.

Making one’s own invitations is also a very good idea; using postcards instead of using the usual reply cards with envelopes could also save money. One can also ask for discounts while buying supplies for a wedding. What people don’t realize most of the time is that everything is really negotiable. Holding the wedding during the lean season can also save money, as the wedding service providers tend to offer discounts during this period.

Wedding Party Supplies: Plan Ahead

Most people choose to rent the big wedding party supplies. For example, if you plan to have an outdoor wedding, you will need to find a place that rents tents, tables, chairs, platforms, microphones, dance floors, and so on. Even most reception halls don’t come with things like archways, candelabras, and prayer benches, so renting the various supplies you need is an excellent option.

Most wedding planners discuss what type wedding party supplies you want, and make arrangements for them, so that you don’t have to. If you have a wedding planner, you won’t have to worry about finding a place to rent these items and coordinating the delivery, set up, and pick up of these items, but if you are planning your own wedding, you will need to consider these options yourself.

One of the most popular Wedding Party Supplies to be rented is a tent. Tents range from small canopies to massive structures strong enough to withstand any thunderstorm. Often, when renting a tent, a representative will come to the wedding site to help you determine what you need based on the date, type of wedding, and number of expected guests. Typically, the tent, and any other rented equipment, will be set up the day before the wedding.

One of the most popular choices is a tent that has removable sides, so the guests can move about freely and have more room, but the sides can quickly be put back up, in the event of inclement weather. They are made from special fabric and can be set up to accommodate a room for dining, dance floor, and stage, and they can even be heated or air-conditioned.

Other popular Wedding Party Supply items often rented, are the tables and chairs. Many times, the rental company can include all of the place settings such as silver flatware, china, crystal, centerpieces, linen napkins, and more. When it comes to wedding party supplies, you have many options to make your wedding day a fairytale.

Marquee Hire - How to Choose a Party Tent

OK, so you want to hire a marquee. But how do you know which sort to choose?

There are several different types of marquees with different qualities, advantages and disadvantages.

Here is a rundown:

  • Frame marquees: clearspan structures with no central poles. These have lowish roofs and are very practical. Some of the advantages of frame tents include:
    1. A frame marquee needs no space around it so it can make use of every available inch of spaces if space is at a premium. A frame marquee can also butt right up to a building as an extension to indoor space
    2. The absence of poles inside means an unobstructed view for speeches
    3. They don't absolutely need to be pegged into the ground so can be put up on hard surfaces and weighted down. This is not a good idea in winter if strong winds are expected though.
    4. They can be joined together in L or U shapes for example. So frame tents work well if you want to fit a marquee into an awkward space.

  • Pole tents: more traditional with... well, poles. Better suited for fairytale weddings or classic styled events if that is what you want (though these style can also be replicated in frame tents if the practical advantages weigh heavy). There are different types of pole tents:
    1. Tension tents with high sculpted roofs. Dramatic. Good if you want to really impress.
    2. Plain pole tents. Less striking, more affordable, pretty.
    3. Big tops - large, round, with a high central pole, as used for circuses. These are fun, but are not widely available.

  • Ethnic tents: increasingly popular, typically for more unconventional events. Usually decorated in the appropriate ethnic style or in bright colours. They include:
    1. Mongolian yurts - sturdy structures with a homely atmosphere
    2. Indian tents - highly decorative with elaborate hanging flaps and often printed linings. Typically, decorated in Eastern style with lots of lights, metal lanterns etc
    3. Moroccan tents - similar to Indian tents, with a different Middle Eastern decorative style. Brightly colored drapes and low Moroccan style seating are common.
    4. Tipis - native American and Scandinavian styles available. For very unconventional parties.

All these marquees come in a range of sizes. For larger events, your marquee hire options may be limited to the more widely available frame marquees and traditional style tents. Few yurts and tipis will seat more than 100, though you may be lucky and find a local supplier.

In practice, you will be limited by the marquee hire available locally so you will have to look around and see what you can find. Ethnic tents, in particular, may be difficult to source away from major population centers.

For more information and rental of both frame and traditional marquees in London and the South East, County Marquees has an extensive, informative website with advice on wedding marquees, corporate and other types of events. The website also features an interactive marquee planner for detailed planning of tent layouts.

Cheap Wedding Tent - How To Pay Less

Finding a cheap wedding tent (or marquee) can be frustrating and a bit scary! What if it isn't big enough? If it falls down? Or it just looks cheap and would be better placed in a Scout camp?

How much space do you really need? A good start is to measure how much space you have for the wedding tent, this is then the maximum and it is no point looking at larger tents. The normal way of working out how much space you need is to allow for 10-12 square feet per person if sitting for dinner, 6 square feet per person for the ceremony and 2 square feet per person on the dance floor. Don't panic not everyone is up dancing at the same time! You will need to calculate in serving tables - 100 square feet and DJ 200 square feet.

All of these figures include aisles!

So if you were having a reception for 60 people you will need 600 square feet for the tables plus 4 serving tables 400 square feet and a DJ and dance floor 300 square feet, cake table 6 square feet. Total space 1306 square feet.

For your cheap wedding tent you can save money by having the serving tables and even the top table on the dance floor during the wedding meal and then they can be moved away for the evening dancing. Another tip to saving money is to try to have the tent on a flat surface so that you don't have to spend lots on a hard floor. I have organised functions through a wet winter in a tent that only needed the simple matting down, although we did have to pay extra for the heaters! A word of caution is that when the floor is bumpy it can get a bit dangerous when you have had a couple of glasses of wine!

Think if you need walls to the tent as these can cost extra, protection from the wind and rain is a must so you will need them if the weather isn't guaranteed.

When you make an enquiry ask about the cost to hire the furniture, you may be able to get a great deal if you go with the same company as the tent hire but don't presume that you will, shop around!

As with all purchases to ensure you have a bargain with your cheap wedding tent you need to compare the prices of a number of suppliers. Make sure you are comparing apples with apples and have a list of all of the costs included in the price. The cheapest will always be the one with half the things missing!

Ask lots of questions of your suppliers, helpful customer service is worth paying a bit extra for. It's your wedding and you want to feel as relaxed as possible. Remember this is your wedding venue that you are trusting them with make sure they can live up to this importance.

Ask for referees and ask to see the wedding tent up at a location, this way you can also evaluate the quality and how much decoration will be needed.

Henna Tattoos

What is Henna?
Henna is a plant. The leaves of the plant are dried and then crushed into a powder. The powder is then made into a paste that when applied to the skin, produces a beautiful reddish-brown stain. Henna is also used as a natural reddish hair dye.

Henna Tattoos
In many cultures henna tattoos are used to celebrate special occasions and rites of passage through life. All over the world people use henna to celebrate pregnancy, manhood, marriage, holidays and even death. In India the art of henna tattooing is called Mehndi. The bridal tattoos done for Indian weddings are some of the most beautifully intricate tattoos around.

Getting a Henna Tattoo
After you choose a tattoo design that you like, the tattoo artist then applies the paste to your skin. The paste needs to stay on the skin for 4 to 8 hours in order to produce a dark stain.

The Dangers of "Black Henna"
Never get a "black henna" tattoo. These are made from a paste that contains black hair dye. The black hair dye used to make this paste can cause severe allergic reactions and permanent scarring.

Before getting a henna tattoo ask the artist what color the tattoo will be, how long you need to leave on the paste and what ingredients they use in their paste. If the artist says the tattoo will be black, that they will remove the paste right away or refuses to tell you the ingredients, those are all warning signs that they are using dangerous "black Henna". Do not get a tattoo from that person.

There is no "safe" black henna. Henna leaves a reddish-brown stain only after the paste has been left on the skin from 4-8 hours. All legitimate artists have a card or aftercare instructions that list all of the ingredients they use in their paste.

Henna Tattoo After-care
Once the paste has been applied to the skin, it should be left on from 4-8 hours. Keeping the paste slightly moist and warm will help the paste create a darker stain.

After 4 to 8 hours the paste can be gently scraped off. It is a good idea to apply a thin layer of cocoa butter or olive oil to help the stain darken and last longer. When the paste is first removed, the henna tattoo will be light and orange colored. As the skin is exposed to air over the next 24 hours the stain will darken to a beautiful reddish-brown.

Henna tattoos generally last from 3-40 days depending on skin type and body location of the tattoo. Tattoos on the hands and feet last the longest and get the darkest stain. Henna stains gradually fade over the course of 3-14 days as the top layers of skin are ex-foliated and shed.

Henna tattoos are a fun, natural and safe type of temporary tattoo. One of the funnest aspects of henna tattoos is that you can change your tattoo designs often. These tattoos are also a great way to try on a tattoo design to see how you like it before you get it permanently tattooed on your body.

All About Bridal Mehndi Or Bridal Henna

One of the most important accessories of South Asian customs, weddings, traditions and festivals is mehndi. These fragrant henna designs on a woman's hands not only enhance the bridal look, but will also bring intrigue to the bride and guests of the wedding.

There are different types of mehndi designs that are doing its round as bridal mehndi today. Though westernized concepts and Arabic patterns were once used most for bridal mehndi, today traditional mehndi designs which require lots of fine work are well in demand.

Other famous mehndi designs doing its rounds in bridal mehndi are floral designs with paisleys and intricate details and practically anything that is funky. The latest trend seems to be green mehndi with color stones. In some weddings, people like wearing mehndi with designs that match the color of their outfits.

The Name Game

This bridal mehndi is usually applied on the bride a day before the wedding. This is organized as a part of the wedding function where professional mehndi designers will be invited to apply mehndi to the bride's hands, arms, feet and legs. In addition to this, the guests and relatives can have their hands or legs filled with mehndi to become a part of the wedding celebrations.

Part of the wedding ritual for bridal mehndi is the 'name game' where the groom has to find his name that is written, and hidden on the bride's palm. According to custom, it is said that if the groom does not find his name within the complicated outlines of the bridal mehndi, the bride will be the one ending up leading in their marital life. In fact sometimes, the wedding night is not allowed to start till the groom finds his name!

Though instant and chemical mehndi gives instant color to the mehndi design, it is not that healthy as the chemicals found in it can cause skin allergies and other skin reactions. It is always better to use traditional mehndi than instant mehndi using cones as cones give better control while drawing out the mehndi designs.

How to Apply Mehndi

When applying mehndi, it is important that the areas have to be first washed with soap and water. Avoid using oily soaps as this will only prevent the color of the mehndi from setting properly on the area. Then the bridal mehndi has to be kept on the area for 2-3 hours till it dries. After this, the mehndi has to be scraped off and not washed off.

Do not apply water to the area for a minimum of 24 hours to get the best color from the bridal mehndi. Make it a point to apply a mixture of sugar and lemon at least twice on the dry area and once the mehndi designs are completely dried, have some steam pass through cloves over the gas. You could also apply Vicks on the area for better color.

Once the mehndi starts to fade and tends to become patchy, you can remove the mehndi design completely using cosmetic body bleach. After applying mehndi on your hands or feet, avoid standing close to the air conditioner as it only dries up the mehndi.

Current Trends in Wedding Photography

Wedding photography is an evolving field that requires artistic talent, vision, and highly technical expertise.

In the past wedding photography was almost always limited to stiff posses without much regard for the underlying story, emotion, romance, and behind the scene events of the wedding day.

Although there is still a big segment of the wedding industry that practices traditional photography with its preplanned poses, and recreation of the wedding peak events such as the kiss, the ring exchange, etc., the modern wedding couple demands a more contemporary approach to their wedding day.

Wedding photojournalism has been in vogue for the past decade. The central idea behind it has been the capture of the wedding events without any interference or direction from the wedding photographer. The photographer is there to capture the true essence of the wedding day. As a result of this realistic approach the photographs are a true representation of the wedding day. Hard core wedding journalistic will be totally opposed to posing any wedding related event. If it doesn’t not happen during the wedding it won’t be recorded. This includes family group photos.

Several photographers offer a hybrid approach to wedding photography, usually a combination of traditional and journalistic wedding photography. In this approach the photographer focuses on documenting the wedding day but the coverage also includes a session with the couple for formal posed or semi-posed photographs and also family group photos.

The latest trend in wedding photography is toward a more fashionable approach. Inspired on high-end fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, InStyle, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, GQ, American Photo, etc., and wedding magazines the photographer seeks to make the couple’s fantasies real.
In the fashion wedding photography approach the goal is to make the wedding couple look their best. Their romantic interplay is glamorized to its maximum expression. The everyday couple becomes like wedding celebrities. Attention to detail is required to achieve the perfect look. This approach requires a great deal of artistic talent behind the camera and also great computer image editing skill to produce a unique photo. Half the photo is made on the camera with the second half achieved though digital image editing and manipulation.

Which style is best, is for you to decide. In our experience a big segment of the wedding couples want to capture the reality, details and romance of the wedding day but at the same time they have fantasies about their wedding and the way they should look.

When making a decision for a wedding photographer look closely to the photographer’s portfolio and see how it agrees with your philosophy on how your wedding day should be photographed. Regardless of your philosophy please make sure that you select a master of the craft, you and the next generation deserve masterpiece memories of your wedding day.

Good Tips To Apply Makeup Like A Professional

Lots of people think that if you are a makeup artist, you can apply a makeup perfectly. Skill is not everything. A makeup artist always has to improve his techniques and tricks with which can make a woman like you look wonderful.

Next, I will outline a few great tips that you can use in your professional makeup venture.

First of all, to conceal dark circles, use a lighter color than your skin tone and pat around the dark circle, from the eye socket to the nose sides.

After a shower, use a lash curler, the warm water makes the hair easier to curl.

Even if brow powder is good for masking sparse spots, unfortunately, it is not long-lasting. To fix that problem, expanse on a brow pencil and stroke on your powder, so the wax will make the powder stay in place.

The heat makes the foundation look natural, so, after applying it and after rubbing the hands a little, press softly onto your face.

For a brighter effect, swipe on your blush and lipstick before the eye makeup. In the end, you can apply mascara, eye shadow or liner.

For nice lashes, you should try applying two mascara layers. First time start from the base of the lashes and wait a few minutes for drying. The second mascara layer contains a gel base and makes your lashes resistant and curly.

Did you know that you can make your own lipstick? All you have to do is to rub your finger on lip balm and then into a colored powder. After that, tap on your lips. You can get a shiny effect in short time. This tip is very useful, especially when you forget your lipstick home.

Lots of women want a special effect for their eyes. For that, apply a liner or a powder shadow. After that, dab liner as close to the lash line as possible, for adding some definition and illusion.

When you apply lip liner, put your elbow on a dressing table, so that you can glide the liner on a perfect free motion, like wipers.

Blue based shadows or liner can minimize the effect of tired-looking eyes, it reduces discoloration. A soft gray eye shadow fits with a blue liner. Moreover, avoid things with a reddish base, such as purple.

With these few tips you are already one step further in your professional makeup venture. Good luck!

Design Your Own Wedding Bouquet In Three Quick Steps

Color Choice for Your Wedding Bouquet

Your wedding bouquet doesn't necessarily have to be composed of the same color scheme as your chosen wedding palette, but it should vibe well with the rest of your décor, and most importantly your theme. When you design your own wedding bouquet, let the bouquet describe who you are as a person.

Color analysts say that warm colors are vivid, bright, and overwhelming. If you are a person who likes excitement, and to stand out and be noticed, a warm colored bouquet will probably be best. Examples of warm colors are red, orange, yellow, and gold.

Cool colors are more serene and soothing. If you are the type of person who prefers a night relaxing in front of a fire instead of partying all night long, who enjoys peace and calm, then you will probably relate best to a cool colored bouquet. Cool colors to use when you design your own wedding bouquet are blue, gray, green, and silver. If you are wondering about the two colors at opposite ends of the spectrum, white is considered a cool color while black is considered warm.

Flower Choice for Your Wedding Bouquet

Design your wedding bouquet using flowers that reflect your personal style. If you like being exotic and different, orchids should be at the top of your list. If you are big into romance, the obvious choice is a big bouquet of deep red roses. If you love being a "girlie girl" look at daisies and lilys for your wedding bouquet.

Accents for Your Wedding Bouquet

You don't have to use baby's breath to design your own wedding bouquet, but it is a common element of a bouquet. You can pick other small colorful flowers to complement your main flower arrangement.

If you like being creative, why not think about adding bamboo shoots, or large plant leafs to go with your arrangement instead of small flowers. An example of large leafs to look at for your unusual wedding bouquet are Elephant ear plant leafs. You must take good care of these unusual plants so that they won't dry out before your wedding day. Follow these tips on how to design your own wedding bouquet so that your element of a bouquet will look so good that you won't even want to part ways with it at the end of your wedding.

Wedding Bouquet - Choosing The Best Flower

Flower bouquets are always an attraction at every wedding. Bouquets are a vital part of the wedding traditions in all races. The bouquet symbolizes the blossoming bride and reflects the emotion that she goes through. Hence, wedding bouquets require the same care, attention and planning that you put for your bridal gown. Listed below are some tips to help you while selecting the perfect bouquet for your wedding.

1. It is suggested that you select flowers that are easily available in the season so that you may save time and money. Otherwise, you will have a hard time ordering the flowers you need.

2. As an alternative, you could make use of silk flowers, in case the flower you like is not available at present. Besides, silk flowers suit formal occasions whereas fresh flowers do not fit in to a formal reception.

3. The bouquet must not drown you. Make sure it does not cover your structure. If you are slim, the weight of the bouquet may be too heavy for you to carry, affecting your posture and the way you carry yourself. Ensure that the bouquet is not too large that it covers your wedding gown and it must be rather easy for you to carry around.

4. The flower that you choose must remain fresh throughout the day. Remember to check if your bouquet will hold up and remain fresh even towards the end of the ceremony so that you manage to look beautiful when pictures are clicked. A bouquet holder is probably a good way to keep the flower vibrant throughout the wedding. Also, go to your florist for advice on flowers that dry up quickly, so that you may avoid using them.

5. Do not allow your florist to assume a flower design that you would like. Take a printed copy or a picture of the bouquet that you prefer. Remember to take a sample of your wedding gown fabric so that your florist can select the right shade of flowers that will go with the gown. There are some bouquets that are richly decorated with lace, ribbons and silk. You could mention the specific designs that you would like on your bouquet.

6. Why don't you select a flower that possesses a special significance? This is not particularly difficult because most flowers have a specific meaning. Roses stand for love and true relationships, Tulips for declaration of love and perfection in love, and Stephanotis symbolizes happy marriages.

7. One of the most important things to remember while choosing a bouquet is its style. Select a bouquet that matches your style and personality. Bouquets have become a personal issue these days as they appear to reflect the personality of the bride. Nosegays are flowers that are clustered in a round design, which varies in sophistication and fits any personality. Flowers are arranged in descending order in Cascade bouquets. Such bouquets are seemingly voluptuous and steal the spotlight.

These are popular in traditional wedding scenarios. There are some flowers whose stems are tied with ribbons and these are referred to as Hand-tied bouquets. They possess a casual aura, and they are commonly used in garden weddings. The Contemporary bouquets are arranged with no specific geometry. Such arrangements symbolize the individuality of the bride and are used mostly in sophisticated marriages.

8. The most popular wedding flowers include Lilly, Hyacinth, Rose, Tulip, Daisy, Orchid and Stephanotis. Follow the trends and choose one of these for your wedding bouquet.

Chocolate Whipped Cream Layer Cake is a Delicious and Cooling Summer Dessert

Hot summer days remind me of my mother's chocolate whipped cream layer cake. My mother, an excellent baker, was famous for her orange sponge cake. She didn't bake sponge cake in the summer, however, because she didn't want to heat up the kitchen. Instead, Mom bought a sponge loaf from the store. She cut the cake into layers and frosted the layers and sides with chocolate whipped cream.

Cream cakes, or ice box cakes as they used to be called, have been around for years. Fannie Farmer's "Boston Cooking School Cook Book," first published in 1898, contains a recipe for French Cream Filling. The filling is made with heavy cream, powdered sugar, a stiffly-beaten egg white, and vanilla.

The wartime edition of "The Victory Cook Book" has a recipe that is almost identical to Fannie Farmer's recipe. Gelatin powder is added to the whipping cream to keep it stiff. The original "Joy of Cooking" by Irma S. Rombauer and Marion rombauer Becker, also has a recipe for whipped cream frosting, only they call it Sweetened Whipped Cream and Creme Chantilly Frosting. Their recipe has many variations: almond cream (toasted slivered almonds or almond paste), toasted coconut, orange marmalade or other jam, and fresh berries, to list a few.

In her two-volume book, the "Modern Encylopedia of Cooking," Meta Given devotes an entire section to refrigerated cakes and ice box cakes. "Refrigerated Cakes are ideal party cakes because they are usually made the day before they are served," she writes. Certainly, I felt like I was at a party every time I ate Mom's Chocolate Whipped Cream Layer Cake. You will turn an ordinary meal into a party when you serve this creamy, chocolaty, and decadent dessert.

Ingredients

1 10.75-ounce frozen pound cake

1 1/2 cups heavy cream

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin powder

2 tablespoons water

2 tablespoons chocolate syrup (Mom used Hershey's.)

1 dark chocolate candy bar

Method

Cut defrosted pound cake into three layers. Dissolve gelatin in water and set aside for five minutes. Combine powdered sugar and heavy cream in a small mixer bowl. Beat cream until it starts to thicken. Gradually add the chocolate syrup and dissolved gelatin. Continue beating until the cream makes soft mounds, but is not stiff.

Frost the layers with the whipped cream mixture. Stack the layers and frost the outside of the cake. Garnish the top with shaved dark chocolate. Stick two toothpicks in the top of the cake (to protect the frosting) and cover with release foil. Referigerate the cake for at least four hours. For Coffee Whipped Cream Layer Cake substitute two tablespoons of cold, extra-strong coffee for the chocolate syrup. Makes 6-8 servings.

Factors To Consider Before Having Your Engagement Photos Taken

If you are planning an engagement photo session, this article will hopefully provide some tips and pointers to consider as you plan.

What style photos do you want?

Studio or outdoor? Formal or casual? Posed or photojournalistic? Try to think of your personalities and how you would like to share your news with your family and friends (and perhaps a photo that can be included with your wedding invitations) – and think of what style of photography would best match that. Discuss your thoughts with your fiancé/fiancée.

Types of photos

Search the web for engagement photos and perhaps print out a few to take with you to your engagement session. There are thousands of sample photos online; having four or five that you like will give the photographer some extra ideas to try out. You should also talk to your married friends and see what they did for their engagement photos.

Professional or amateur?

You are likely to get better results if you hire a professional. They know what they are doing and can work with you to get great photos.

However, if budget is a concern, instead of having no photos taken, try to find a friend that will take your photos. Especially a friend that has some photography skill. If you are using a friend for the pictures, do not do an indoor photo session! Try to have an outdoor photo session in the evening as the sun is setting - but without any direct sun shining on you. Go to a park or other beautiful location. And then have fun! If you need to, go out and take some test photos to see what the location and lighting looks like and then go back the next day for the actual photo session.

Wedding Photographer?

Many wedding photographers include an engagement session in their wedding photography packages. It is a wonderful way for you to “test out” a photographer and see how well you interact with them, and how well they are able to put you at ease during a photo session. If you are having engagement photos taken in the same area where the wedding will be, and you are hiring a professional photographer for your wedding, I strongly recommend you consider using the same photographer for your engagement photo session.

Don’t be Nervous!

The key to a successful engagement photo session, and what many professionals are skilled at, is helping you relax in front of the camera. Don’t get bogged down with the details of the photo session and how you are appearing (it’s hard not to be vain during such an important session – I know!). Instead, focus on your fiancé/fiancée and your love for them. Relax and enjoy being with them. If the photographer has posing tips, have fun while trying them out.

If a friend is taking your photos I believe you have a better chance of success by going out and having a fun, relaxed, photo session than going for a serious, posed session. Even IF you had to go back out for another photo session because the first batch didn’t turn out well – oh, well. Consider it another special outing with the one you love.

What to Wear

The wedding vows have not been exchanged yet, but you have, in essence, already pledged your life and love to your fiancé/fiancée. I would strongly recommend that you coordinate your clothing. Whether it is tan and whites, or perhaps denim – whatever the colors, work at coordinating. Casual or formal? Again, make sure you coordinate.

Make-Up Artist Boo-Boos to Avoid

With make up schools aiming to professionalize the field of makeup artistry, there are things that separate a professional make up artist from just anybody who wants to play with colors and brushes. Sometimes, passion isn't enough and manners do count. The following are acts that are often neglected but committed by make up artists who do not realize the importance of taking care of their clients.

Follow these rules so no one will be left traumatized by your carelessness:

1. Don't break your client's neck. Make sure she's in a comfortable position when you do her makeup. Let her sit with her back leaned against the chair, do not let her hyperextend her neck for several minutes to adjust to your moves, unless she's from an elastic superhero descent. It will strain her muscles leaving her in pain the next day as if she went on a boxing match instead of a pampering makeup session.

2. Do not rest your hand on anyone's face, especially on her delicate eyes. This is bordering on barbaric. Some strokes need careful and precise motion that can fatigue your muscles but it doesn't give you an excuse to transform her face into an armrest. Your hands should be as light as air when working.

3. Do not blow into your client's face. Some cosmetics need to dry before you can proceed to your next step but please, be hygienic enough not to transfer the germs from your mouth even if you don't suffer from halitosis.

4. Say "Please". When you want your client to move in a certain direction, say " look up, please," or "close your eyes, please." Do not move her head with force or instruct her in a dominating fashion even if you become the most famous make up artist in the world.

5. Use sponge or brushes. When doing your own makeup, you could get away with using your hands in applying makeup. There are certain cosmetics that blend more easily with the heat of your hands. Some claim to have better control in blending using bare hands but when working professionally, use a tool. Some people don't fancy the idea of your hands touching their delicate skin.

6. Make sure your sponges or brushes are clean. Use 1 sponge per client. When doing makeup of several faces in one setting, having a different set of brushes for each person may be impractical. Sanitize your brushes with alcohol or wipe them off with wet tissues in between clients.

7. Do not wear a strong perfume. Your work needs getting close to another person and although you want to smell good, don't overdo it. You might trigger some allergic reaction from people around you or cause them migraines. In the same way, please don't smoke before a makeup gig. Tobacco is not a very pleasant smell to stick to one's face. Bring mints or breath fresheners, instead.

8. Do not gossip in front of a client. Talking about another person in a malicious light does not make you look professional at all. If you want respect, earn it. For all you know, the person you're backstabbing may be a relative of hers or in case of celebrities, she may be a closet fan of the one you're dissing.

9. Do not talk about another make up artist's mistakes or ditch a competitor. If you are truly good in your craft, it will show in your works. You don't have to make another artist look bad to make yourself appear better. There is no Hippocratic oath among makeup artists to protect their colleagues but do have the decency not to spread negative talks.

10. Do not pry into your client's personal affairs. As much as you want to build rapport with your client, do not ask rude questions and intrude her private life unless she volunteers information. Be a good listener, interact nicely but do not cross the line.

Bottom line is, have some finesse, be gentle, courteous and hygienic. Observe professional demeanor at all times.

Best Kind of Makeup Worn at Your Wedding

The decision a Bride has on selecting the right makeup to wear at her wedding should not be taken lightly. That makeup should make the Bride glow and the properties should have the capability to last many hours at a time, if not all day and night. Mineral makeup has those properties and will serve a Bride well on her wedding day. A Bride has many makeup applications and methods to apply it to choose from and selecting the wrong makeup could prove disastrous at some point during the day.

The Bride could choose airbrush makeup, which is expensive and cumbersome at times. On the other hand, she could choose a name brand foundation that is sold everyday on store shelves but how special is that? For that special day, though, she would prefer an extra special foundation on which to dress up her face for her wedding. Mineral makeup will provide a lightweight foundation that has solid glowing properties but will never make the Bride look overdressed or out of place.

Mineral makeup will mesmerize everyone at the wedding festivities. Mineral makeup will make excellent favors for the bridesmaids in the wedding party. After guests view the Bride in all her finery, there is certain to be many comments about how glowing and beautiful the Bride looks on that day. A healthy glow of happiness is a good way to start a new life. Mineral makeup is an inexpensive tool that provides a simple start for the Bride to begin that journey. The best kind of makeup worn at your wedding would be one that is not difficult to apply. Mineral makeup is applied with brushes and there is nothing easier than that!

http://mineralhygienics.com "It's something that a lot of my patients use and love, and I use it myself. It's also the product most patients ask about," says Kathryn Frew, MD, a dermatologist at Juva Skin and Laser Center and MediSpa in New York City. Many dermatologists report that because mineral makeup frequently eliminates classic "irritants" - like fragrances, binders, synthetic dyes, and preservatives -- it is considered "purer" and can be kinder to the skin. She adds that because titanium dioxide [and zinc oxide] have anti-inflammatory properties, certain mineral makeups can also have a calming effect on the skin, particularly important if you suffer from inflammatory problems such as rosacea or acne.

Leadership Communication Training - 5 Ways it Can Help Advance Your Personal Career

No matter your age or profession, public speaking is never an easy or inherent task. Initially, no one likes delivering a speech in front of an audience-whether it be for a high school report or a corporate initiative. The fact remains, however, that in order to inform and motivate a company towards goals, progress, and profit; public speaking is crucial. Not only does public communication keep a corporation on task as a whole, but can also advance your career by leaps and bounds if done properly.

When it comes to your career, it may seem that the only things you need to get to the top-or at least advance at a steady and respectable pace-is hard work, a positive attitude, ingenuity, and diligence. While these are all much needed and admirable qualities to bring to your job, they are not all that is required. What's missing? Effective presentation skills! Yes, in almost every discipline or career, you must be able to sell your ideas (not just think of them). Knowing how to communicate through public speaking is imperative to advancing a career. So, how do you learn these techniques? The best was is to attend a Public Speaking, Leadership, or Communication training course. Below, we learn the five significant ways in which a positive and effective public speaking training session can advance your career.

1. Establishes Expertise- One of the most important results of effective public speaking is that it establishes the speaker as an expert on a particular topic or subject. In your career, you could be public speaking for a job interview, in a sales meeting with a client, or a goal setting appointment with your boss-whatever it is, you need to assure your audience that you are well versed on the topic that you seek to persuade them on. Without being able to do so, you lose their interest, respect, and the positive reaction you seek through the purpose of the speech.

2. Creates/Boosts Credibility The second way that knowing how to effectively deliver a speech through proper public speaking methods is that it creates and/or boosts your credibility. As you work harder and speak more effectively, you will develop a positive credibility that precedes you-or boosts the credibility you may already have within your company. Having credibility before presenting a topic makes your audience a lot more positively responsive to whatever your motivation for your speech may be.

3. Company Asset- Being able to effectively speak to a course of action also promotes you as a valuable company asset by providing them with low-cost marketing. You, quite simply, become another effective marketing tool to demonstrating your company's value to the world. This applies not only to direct sales but also anytime you come in contact with anyone from the outside world.

4. Individual Worth- There are many of us that work in huge corporations in which the top boss or CEO may not even recognize us. Knowing how to publicly speak and not being afraid to do so, makes you memorable to these business execs and much more apt to move up and receive promotions. Easy identification works for political candidates and it also will work for you in your career enhancing efforts!

5. Ingenuity- Lastly, being able to effectively speak publicly allows your ingenuity and ideas for the company goals to come across heard. Having the great idea to increase profits in your company or business is only half the battle. You must know how to properly present it and yourself in order to get anywhere.
